WhatsApp's New Feature Enables Users to Seamlessly Navigate Videos, Like YouTube

Meta-owned WhatsApp is reportedly working on a new feature that will allow users to skip forward or backward in videos, similar to the functionality on platforms like YouTube. This development was shared by WABetaInfo, a trusted source for WhatsApp news and updates, along with a screenshot illustrating how the feature works.

According to WABetaInfo, users will be able to skip to specific parts of a video by tapping the screen twice on the left or right side, making it a user-friendly feature. Currently, this feature is available to select beta testers and is expected to be gradually rolled out to more users in the coming weeks. To access it, users will need to install the latest WhatsApp beta for Android from the Google Play Store.

WhatsApp already has a built-in media player that allows users to view videos without leaving the app. However, navigating within a video can be a bit cumbersome, as it requires users to tap the screen to bring up the progress bar and then select a point on the playback progress to move forward or backward. This new feature is expected to simplify this process, offering a more intuitive way to interact with videos on the platform.
