WhatsApp Introduces Email-Based Account Access as an Alternative Login Method

WhatsApp is preparing to introduce a new feature that will allow users to link their email address to their account. This development, first reported by WABetaInfo, a platform specializing in WhatsApp news and updates, will offer an alternative login method for WhatsApp users.

Users will be able to access this feature in the 'Email Address' section within their account settings. Once the email address is added and verified, individuals will have the option to log into WhatsApp using their email address.

However, it's important to note that WhatsApp is not discontinuing its primary login method, which involves sending a 6-digit code to a user's registered mobile number. The email feature is primarily designed for situations where a user cannot access their mobile number or is experiencing difficulties receiving text messages.

Furthermore, the email-based login option will be entirely optional, allowing users to choose whether or not to enable it.

Currently, this feature is available only to beta testers, particularly those who have installed the latest WhatsApp beta update for iOS through the TestFlight app. WhatsApp plans to gradually roll out this feature to more users in the coming days.
