VHP Organizes Protests in Delhi-NCR Over Nuh Violence; Traffic Advisory Issued

Right-wing organization Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) is preparing for demonstrations across the National Capital Region (NCR) on Wednesday to protest against the recent violence in Haryana's Nuh district. Concerns over potential ripple effects have led police and intelligence officials to closely monitor the protests.

The violence erupted on Monday evening when a VHP procession was attacked following the circulation of a social media video. Rumors about cow vigilante Monu Manesar's involvement in the march further escalated tensions. Tragically, the clashes have claimed five lives so far, with four casualties in Nuh, where a mob targeted the VHP-led Hindu procession, and a naib imam was killed at a mosque in Gurugram.

The VHP is planning to stage protests at 23 locations in Delhi, with the possibility of additional sites being added. Authorities are taking precautions to ensure public safety, as the Delhi police anticipate the protests to be symbolic rather than massive gatherings. Key protest areas include Karol Bagh, Patel Nagar, Mayur Vihar, Lajpat Nagar, Mukherjee Nagar, Moti Nagar, Najafgarh, Tilak Nagar, Narela, Nangloi, and Ambedkar Nagar, some of which are close to the Haryana border.

In response to the situation, the Delhi police have been directed to deploy additional personnel, secure religious sites, and be equipped with anti-riot gear. The police have expressed their commitment to maintaining communal harmony and the security of Delhi.

Due to the protests, traffic disruptions are anticipated at the Nirman Vihar metro station, prompting the Delhi Traffic Police to advise commuters to take alternative routes.

The VHP is also set to hold a significant demonstration in Noida on the same day, focusing on the Nuh violence. Section 144 has been imposed across Noida and Greater Noida, prohibiting unpermitted religious activities in public places and on roads.

As tensions remain high, authorities are closely monitoring the situation and urging protesters to maintain peace and adhere to legal guidelines during the demonstrations.
