Lucknow: In a significant meeting held on January 4, 2023, Vijay Kumar, the Director General of Police for Uttar Pradesh, engaged in a detailed discussion with the 18 trainee IPS officers belonging to the 75th RR batch (years 2021 and 2022) of the Indian Police Service. The gathering took place at the headquarters' auditorium.

Having undergone training at esteemed institutions such as the Sardar Patel National Police Academy in Hyderabad and the Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Uttar Pradesh Police Academy in Muradabad, the selected officers received orientation and briefings across various districts before convening at the headquarters for this crucial meeting.

During the session, Director General Vijay Kumar, alongside Additional Directors General of Police and Senior Superintendents of Police, presented a comprehensive overview of key areas to the trainee officers. The discussion highlighted the following key points:

  1. A dedicated focus on preventing crimes against women, ensuring prompt action in cases involving women, and providing robust support in the judiciary to ensure timely justice for the victims.
  2. The launch of an Operation Conviction campaign to swiftly bring identified serious crimes against women in Commissionerates/districts to an effective conclusion, minimizing delays in delivering justice.
  3. Implementation of professional and scientific methods to execute action plans for maintaining effective control over crimes and criminals.
  4. The significance of direct interaction and dialogue between police officers and the general public for effective community policing.
  5. Acknowledging cybercrime as a major contemporary challenge, with an emphasis on enhancing the police force's technical capabilities to prevent and combat cybercrimes.
  6. Upholding ethical values, honesty, integrity, and a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption as the foundational principles for success in police service.

The Director General of Police, Uttar Pradesh, concluded the event by addressing queries and extending best wishes for a promising future to the trainee IPS officers. The gathering witnessed the presence of top police officials from various branches, including Law and Order, Rules and Manuals, Training, Establishment, Personnel, and Crime, at the Uttar Pradesh Police Headquarters.
