Despite unprecedented challenges in the past year, the travel industry has not only persevered but has experienced a significant upswing, reveals data from WorkIndia. The sector has observed a 5% increase in job seekers and an 11% surge in job opportunities compared to the previous year. The report delves into demographics, city preferences, and the correlation between job availability and candidate interest in high-demand roles such as chef, driver, and receptionist.

The industry has seen an impressive 87.32% rise in job applications from individuals aged 18-30, reflecting substantial interest from the younger demographic and pointing towards maximum career growth potential in the sector.

Key Findings:

    • Tier 1 cities are the most favored destinations, attracting 63.21% of job applicants.
    • Leading cities for job availability include Delhi (31.78%), Mumbai (27.21%), and Bengaluru (9.48%).
  2. Role-Specific Insights:

    • Chef applications are highest in Tier 1 cities at 68.00%, with Delhi taking the lead at 33.18%.
    • Mumbai and Bengaluru lead in job opportunities for drivers, with 65.26% applicants in the sector.
  3. Hotel Management and Receptionists:

    • Hotel management candidates show a preference for Tier 1 cities (54.20%), especially Mumbai (26.64%).
    • Receptionists also favor Tier 1 cities (62.41%), aligning well with job availability at 68.22%.
