In a devastating incident in Allipur Bhud village of Amroha, Uttar Pradesh, five members of a family were discovered dead, with two others hospitalized in critical condition. The incident, suspected to be caused by asphyxiation from the smoke emitted by an 'angeethi' or coal brazier, likely occurred on Monday night while the victims were asleep.
Local authorities were alerted when none of the seven family members had exited their home since Monday night. Concerned villagers broke open the door on Tuesday evening and found all seven family members unconscious. Swiftly, the family was rushed to the hospital, where two individuals remain in critical condition. Tragically, five others, identified as Sonam (19), Waris (17), Mehak (16), Zaid (15), and Mahir (12), were declared dead by hospital authorities.
While initial suspicions point to asphyxiation from the 'angeethi' smoke, the police have announced a thorough investigation to determine the precise cause of death.
Details surrounding the tragic incident are still emerging, and updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
In a parallel incident, two individuals lost their lives to asphyxiation in a railway colony near Uttar Pradesh's Hisar cantonment. Travez Mohammad (31) and Shiv Dhani (29), residents of UP and crane operators at the Satrod railway station in Hisar, succumbed to suffocation while sleeping after lighting a fire in their room to combat the cold.
According to Hisar police, the closed room and burning fire led to the tragic incident, highlighting the dangers associated with such practices. Authorities continue to emphasize the importance of caution and safety in similar situations.
The community mourns the loss of lives in these unfortunate incidents, underscoring the need for heightened awareness and preventive measures in households to avert such tragedies.
