On the occasion of the 5th convocation ceremony of Symbiosis University of Applied Sciences (SUAS), Indore on November 27, 2023, a total of 294 students were conferred with their degrees. Mr. Aditya Ghosh, Former President of Indigo, Founder of Homage, Co-founder of AkasaAir and Board Member of Fabindia and OYO was the Chief Guest for the ceremony.

In a momentous celebration of academic achievement, Symbiosis University of Applied Sciences (SUAS), Indore marked its 5th convocation ceremony on November 27, 2023, with a total of 294 students donning graduation robes to receive their well-deserved degrees. The ceremony, graced by esteemed Chief Guest Mr. Aditya Ghosh, Former President of Indigo and Founder of Homage, among other notable roles, was a testament to the university's commitment to excellence and transformative journey over the past five years.

The Chief Guest, Mr. Aditya Ghosh, emphasized the significance of convocations as commencement ceremonies, marking not just the culmination of a chapter but the commencement of a lifelong impact on the lives of others. He urged graduates to focus on managing risks, identifying complacency and arrogance as the real threats in today's world.

The Guest of Honour, Mr. Ramanathan Gopalkrishnan, Former CEO of Barclays, India, shared invaluable insights into navigating the challenges of the VUCA environment. He underscored five critical mindsets for success, encouraging students to embrace change, foster collaboration, shift organizational structures towards partnership, adopt a coaching-oriented approach, and promote authenticity for a diverse and innovative work culture.

Dr. Swati Mujumdar, Pro-Chancellor of SUAS, provided a comprehensive overview of the university's remarkable growth, achieving a 100 percent placement rate even during the challenging times of the Covid pandemic. She outlined the university's commitment to crafting programs aligned with industry needs, fostering not only academic excellence but also entrepreneurship among students.

Looking ahead, Dr. Mujumdar announced plans for an experiential center that would aid prospective students and parents in understanding academic programs, guiding them towards suitable career paths. Mr. Aditya Ghosh, in agreement, stressed the importance of focusing on impact and advised against succumbing to challenges prevalent in today's global landscape.

Dr. Prithvi Yadav, Vice Chancellor of SUAS, presented the university's annual report, highlighting student accomplishments, impactful research, and patents. He emphasized the university's dedication to providing students with exposure to cutting-edge technologies through specialized skill training labs and centers of excellence.

The ceremony culminated with the prestigious Chancellor's Gold Medals awarded to Ms. Mitali Malani for MBA in BFSI and Mr. Saharsh Kumar Laad for B.Tech CSIT, recognizing them as the 'Best Outgoing Students' from UG and PG programs, respectively. As SUAS continues its journey of academic excellence, these graduates stand as shining examples of the university's commitment to shaping future leaders and innovators.
