Swiggy Instamart VP Sidharth Satpathy Bids Farewell; Amazon India's Anirban Roy Takes Helm

Swiggy-owned Instamart, Vice President Sidharth Satpathy has announced his departure, marking another high-profile exit from the renowned food delivery platform. Satpathy, who initially joined Swiggy as an AVP in June 2019 and later earned a promotion to VP in July 2021, shared the news of his exit on LinkedIn, expressing gratitude for his rewarding five-year journey with the startup ecosystem.

Taking over the reins at Instamart will be Anirban Roy, who assumes the position this week. Roy, previously the Head of Performance Marketing at Amazon India, brings a wealth of experience to his new role.

Satpathy, in his farewell message, reflected on the significant growth and experiences during his time at Swiggy. He expressed appreciation for the collaboration with his colleagues and peers, signaling a positive and transformative chapter in his professional life. His next venture will see him returning to the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry starting the upcoming Monday.

This announcement follows a series of top-level departures from Swiggy, including Kartik Gurumurthy, the architect of Instamart, in March of the previous year. Subsequent exits included Dale Vaz, the then CTO, as well as executives Ashish Lingamneni, Nishad Kenkre, and Anuj Rathi.

These leadership changes come amid Swiggy's preparations for a significant $1 billion initial public offering (IPO). The Softbank-backed company is reportedly in talks with investment bankers, including Kotak Mahindra Capital, Citi, JP Morgan, Bofa Securities, and Jefferies. Additionally, US-based asset management company Invesco, holding a 2% stake in Swiggy, recently raised the valuation of the food delivery giant to $8.3 billion.
