Successful Operation by Lucknow Police: Four Dacoits Apprehended After Daring Heist

In a swift and well-coordinated operation, the Crime Branch Lucknow, Crime Team (DCP East), Surveillance Cell (ADCP East), Chinhat Police Station, and Gomtinagar Police Station collaborated to successfully apprehend four cunning dacoits involved in a daring heist. The suspects were arrested near the Pashchimi Bypass in Bareilly district at 2:00 AM. The operation resulted in the recovery of 21 bundles of copper wire, 5 bundles of iron plates (approximate value ₹40,00,000/-), ₹4,200 in cash, one DCM truck, two illegal .315 bore pistols, four live cartridges of .315 bore, and four mobile phones used in the incident.

Led by the directives of Police Commissioner Lucknow S.B. Shiradkar, the team included Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Prabal Pratap Singh, DCP Crime Salman Taj Patil, Additional Police Commissioner (East) Sayyad Ali Abbas, and ADCP Crime Ashok Kumar. The vigilant supervision and leadership of Zonal Inspector General Vibhootikhand Anidya Vikram Singh and ACP Crime Abhinav, along with the dedication of Inspector Chinhut Ashwani Kumar Chaturvedi and Surveillance Cell/Madiyanva In-charge Inspector Shivanand Mishra, played a crucial role in the successful apprehension.

The daring dacoity incident, reported on January 27, 2024, involved 8-10 unidentified individuals breaking into the Balaji Transformer Factory on Deva Road Apatran. They bound the security guard, displayed pistols, and looted copper wires and iron plates from the factory, loading the stolen items onto a truck before fleeing. The swift response of the police, including Chinhat Police Station, Surveillance Cell, Crime Team, and other specialized units, led to the identification of the DCM vehicle (registration number UP25AT9774) connected to the crime.

The supervising officers, in consultation with the Crime Team of DCP East, verified details through the e-challan app and gathered additional information through electronic means. Inspector Chinhat May Hamrahi, along with Additional Superintendent of Police (Operations), and a diverse team of private resources, tracked down the suspects to Bareilly district. Through discreet inquiries, it was discovered that the vehicle owner and accomplices had left for Delhi after taking stolen goods from the DCM factory.

Legal proceedings are now underway in accordance with the registered complaint. The successful operation highlights the efficiency and dedication of the Lucknow Police in swiftly addressing criminal activities and ensuring the safety of the community.
