Samsung's Galaxy AI Features Expand to Buds Series, Introducing Live Translate and Interpreter

Samsung is fulfilling its promise to expand Galaxy AI features to more devices, starting with the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro, Galaxy Buds 2, and Galaxy Buds FE. The latest update brings two innovative features, live translate and interpreter, enhancing the user experience. However, there's a catch – these features are currently exclusive to the Samsung Galaxy S24 series smartphones.

Live Translate and Interpreter Features: Breaking Language Barriers

The Galaxy Buds 2 Pro, Galaxy Buds 2, and Galaxy Buds FE now support live translate, allowing users to experience real-time call translation on their Galaxy S24 series smartphones. This feature enables seamless communication while using the Samsung Galaxy Buds, fostering a more inclusive and connected experience.

Additionally, the interpreter feature facilitates two-way, face-to-face interpretation directly through the Galaxy Buds interface. Samsung emphasizes that this eliminates the need to hand over the phone for managing translated conversations. This update reflects Samsung's commitment to providing cutting-edge technology that simplifies communication and enhances user convenience.

Requirement: Galaxy S24 Series Smartphone

While the exciting Galaxy AI features are now available for the Galaxy Buds series, users should note that a Samsung Galaxy S24 series smartphone is currently required to unlock these capabilities. Users can access these features through an over-the-air (OTA) update provided in the Samsung Galaxy Wear application.

Global Expansion Plans for Galaxy AI Features

Samsung has ambitious plans to bring Galaxy AI features to approximately 100 million Galaxy smartphones this year, marking a significant step in the global expansion of mobile AI. The initial rollout targets select Galaxy devices in the first half of 2024, including flagship models such as the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus, Galaxy S23 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 5, and Galaxy Z Flip 5. Notably, even the entry-level Galaxy S23 FE is slated to receive AI enhancements. The Galaxy Tab S9 tablets are also in line for this transformative upgrade.

The unexpected addition of Galaxy Buds to the AI feature lineup reflects Samsung's commitment to innovation and differentiation in a competitive market. As the company explores generative AI, these updates position Samsung as a frontrunner, distinguishing its product offerings, particularly from competitors like Apple.

Samsung users can anticipate a future where language barriers are effortlessly overcome, thanks to the integration of advanced AI features in a range of Galaxy devices.

Note: The OTA update for eligible devices is available through the Samsung Galaxy Wear application.
