Rahul Gandhi Labels Madhya Pradesh as the 'Corruption Capital,' Alleges BJP Government's Involvement in Rampant Corruption

During a recent Election rally in Neemuch district, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Madhya Pradesh of widespread corruption, declaring the state as the "capital of corruption." Gandhi's allegations stemmed from a viral video purportedly showing the son of Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and a "middleman" discussing substantial sums of money.

Addressing the crowd, Gandhi expressed concern over the alleged financial misconduct, stating, "Today Madhya Pradesh is the capital of corruption. You must have seen the video of BJP leader Narendra Singh Tomar ji's son. They are looting your money. The people of the state are suffering losses due to the loot of BJP leaders."

In addition to his accusations, Gandhi promised a caste census if the Congress comes to power both at the Centre and in the state. He outlined further commitments, including providing LPG cylinders at ₹500, waiving farmers' loans up to ₹2 lakh, establishing a minimum support price (MSP) of ₹2,600 for wheat (increasing to ₹3,000), and offering free electricity up to 100 units, as reported by PTI.

Gandhi highlighted the issue of farmer suicides, claiming that 18,000 farmers in the state took their lives due to debt. He alleged that the BJP, in collaboration with big industrialists, regained power by undermining the Congress government's efforts to waive farm loans.

The former Congress chief also criticized the prime minister, accusing him of avoiding discussions on the OBC community after Gandhi began addressing their concerns. Gandhi pointed out the disparity in OBC representation among government officers at both the central and state levels.

Madhya Pradesh is gearing up for polls on November 17, with the vote count scheduled for December 3.
