Punjab Gangster Sukha Duneke Fatally Shot Amidst Inter-Gang Feud in Canada

New Delhi: Recent intelligence reports from Canada have revealed that Sukhdool Singh, famously known as Sukha Duneke and associated with the Davinder Bambiha gang in the Moga district of Punjab, met his demise on Wednesday night in what is believed to be a result of inter-gang rivalry. Although unverified, preliminary information points to Winnipeg, Canada as the location of his tragic end. This incident bears a striking resemblance to the earlier killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a notorious terrorist, in Surrey during a similar inter-gang conflict on June 19, during which Nijjar was subjected to a hail of approximately 15 bullets.

Sukha Duneke had sought refuge in Canada in 2017, allegedly using forged documents, and has seven criminal cases registered against him in India.

Notably, there is an alarming presence of 29 gangsters from the Punjab region and its vicinity who have absconded from India to evade law enforcement. They have left the country either with valid Indian passports, counterfeit travel documents, or via the Nepal route. Canada, in particular, has emerged as a key host nation for these individuals. Canada has accused India of political involvement in the assassination of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, an operative of the Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF), although substantial evidence supporting this claim remains elusive.

Sukha Duneke had reportedly played a significant role in assisting, funding, and bolstering the operations of the Davinder Bambiha gang across Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, and Rajasthan. While he had some affiliations with pro-Khalistan groups, his primary activities revolved around extortion calls and orchestrating contract killings.

Duneke's criminal record in Punjab and neighboring states boasts more than 20 cases of murder and other serious offenses. In one notable incident on March 14 of the previous year, he allegedly conspired to assassinate kabaddi player Sandeep Singh Nangal during a kabaddi match in Mallian village, Jalandhar, with the assistance of his associates.
