Poco Introduces New Poco C65 Entry-Level Smartphone with Upgraded Features

In a low-key fashion, Poco, the Xiaomi spin-off, has discreetly introduced the Poco C65, a brand-new entry-level smartphone, which seems to be a successor to the previously launched Poco C55 earlier this year. The Poco C65 is now listed on Poco's global website, and it packs several notable upgrades over its predecessor, including a faster display and USB Type-C charging. The exact pricing for the Poco C65 is still under wraps, but for reference, the Poco C55 was initially priced at Rs 9,499.

Poco C65: Full Specifications and Features

The Poco C65 boasts a 6.74-inch 720p IPS LCD display featuring a waterdrop-style notch. This panel is capable of refreshing at a rate of up to 90Hz per second and is shielded by Corning Gorilla Glass (specific version unspecified), with brightness reaching an impressive 600 nits.

Under the hood, the Poco C65 is powered by the MediaTek Helio G85, which is the same chipset as the one found in the Poco C55. However, the new iteration offers enhanced RAM and storage options, with capacities of up to 8GB and 256GB respectively. Running the show is MIUI 14 for Poco, presumably based on Android 13.

For photography enthusiasts, the Poco C65 is equipped with a dual-camera setup on the rear, comprising a 50-megapixel main camera and an additional 2-megapixel shooter for macros. On the front, there's an 8-megapixel selfie camera to capture your moments.

The Poco C65 draws its power from a robust 5,000mAh battery, and it supports 18W fast USB Type-C charging, which is included in the package. The phone is bundled with a 10W charger.

In terms of design, the C55's leather-like stitch pattern has been completely replaced in this generation by a more understated flat polycarbonate body, available in black, blue, and purple color options. Biometric authentication is handled by a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. Completing the package are features like NFC, a 3.5mm audio jack, and micro-SD card storage expansion.

Poco is yet to announce the pricing and availability details for the Poco C65. However, based on past launches, it is anticipated that the Poco C65 will eventually make its way to India with a price tag of approximately around Rs 10,000. Keep an eye out for further updates on this exciting release.
