The announcement comes after a brief delay, as OpenAI initially intended to introduce the store in November but faced setbacks due to the organizational reshuffle prompted by the temporary ousting and subsequent reinstatement of CEO Sam Altman.

The San Francisco-based company first revealed its plans for the store during its developer conference in November. Users will have the ability to construct GPTs, customized iterations of ChatGPT, without the need for any coding knowledge.
