Musical Harmony Takes Flight: Akasa Air Eliminates Handling Charges for Instruments

In a strategic move aimed at bolstering support for the artistic community, Akasa Air, a rapidly expanding airline in India, has introduced a pioneering initiative to eradicate handling charges associated with the transportation of musical instruments across its extensive network. This groundbreaking decision is set to significantly reduce travel costs for musicians.

Akasa Air's New Policy: Under the new policy, passengers traveling with Akasa Air will no longer incur handling fees for carrying musical instruments like guitars, keyboards, violins, and others, provided these items fall within the limits of their extra baggage allowance.

However, in cases where the musical equipment exceeds the complimentary baggage allowance of one item or surpasses the weight limit of 15 kgs, standard excess baggage charges will be applicable.

Since its inauguration in August 2022, Akasa Air has rapidly solidified its position as a key player in the Indian aviation industry, serving over 5.9 million revenue passengers.

The airline currently connects 16 cities across the country, including Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kochi, Delhi, Guwahati, Agartala, Pune, Lucknow, Goa, Hyderabad, Varanasi, Bagdogra, Bhubaneswar, and Kolkata.

Bookings for Akasa Air flights, along with a range of customer-friendly add-on services, can be conveniently made through their official website, the Android and iOS app, authorized travel agents, and various online travel agencies (OTAs) nationwide.

This forward-thinking initiative by Akasa Air not only elevates the travel experience for musicians but also underscores the airline's dedication to nurturing and promoting artistic talent within the Indian music industry. Musicians can now take to the skies with their instruments without the added financial burden of handling charges, thanks to Akasa Air's customer-centric approach and commitment to facilitating hassle-free travel.
