Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani has voiced optimism regarding India's economic trajectory, projecting it to burgeon into a $40 trillion economy by 2047, a substantial leap from its current $3.5 trillion status. Speaking at the convocation of Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU) in Gujarat's Gandhinagar, Ambani emphasized the imperative need for India to double its energy consumption by the decade's end.

Acknowledging India's role as the world's third-largest energy consumer, Ambani highlighted the necessity for a significant supply of clean and green energy to propel the nation's growth without compromising environmental integrity. He underlined that India's energy demand is poised to double within the next decade.

In the context of India's ambitious growth plans, Ambani outlined three critical questions or the "Energy Trilemma" facing the nation. Firstly, how can India ensure universal access to affordable energy for every citizen and economic activity? Secondly, how can the transition from fossil fuel-based energy to clean and green alternatives be accelerated? Lastly, how can the nation safeguard its growing energy needs from external volatility?

Mukesh Ambani, India's wealthiest individual, emphasized the pivotal role of energy transition in facilitating India's ascendancy as a global leader in green, sustainable, and inclusive development. He expressed confidence in India's ability to address the Energy Trilemma through the ingenuity of its talented youth, who are committed to combating the climate crisis.

Ambani urged students to be fearless in their pursuit of solutions, emphasizing the importance of courage in navigating challenges. He acknowledged the inevitability of mistakes but encouraged learning and resilience in overcoming them. Concluding his address, Ambani called upon the younger generation to contribute to India's greatness and embrace the opportunities presented by the nation's confident march into the 21st century.
