Lala Kedarnath Aggarwal, the visionary entrepreneur who transitioned from selling bhujia and rasgullas on the streets of old Delhi to establishing the renowned sweets and snacks brand Bikanervala, passed away at the age of 86 on Monday.

Fondly known as Kakaji, Aggarwal's legacy extends beyond the culinary world, marking the end of an era that has left an indelible mark on palates and touched countless lives, according to a statement from Bikanervala. The company, with over 60 outlets in India and a global presence in countries like the USA, New Zealand, Singapore, Nepal, and the UAE, expressed deep sorrow at his passing.

Shyam Sunder Aggarwal, Managing Director of Bikanervala Group, stated, "Kakaji's departure is not just a loss to Bikanervala; it's a void in the culinary landscape. His vision and leadership will forever guide our culinary journey."

Kedarnath Aggarwal commenced his entrepreneurial journey in Delhi, bringing the family's culinary legacy from Bikaner. Initially facing challenges, he, along with his brother Satyanarayan Aggarwal, sold bhujia and rasgulla on the streets of old Delhi. Their hard work and the distinctive taste of Bikaner gained popularity, leading to the establishment of a shop in Delhi's Chandini Chowk, known as Bikaner Namkeen Bhandar.

The shop, later recognized as Bikanervala, became renowned for its Moong Dal Halwa, Bikaneri Bhujia, and Kaju Katli. The legacy of the Aggarwal brothers and their culinary creations lives on, with Radhey Mohan Aggarwal, Director of Bikanervala Group and Kakaji's eldest son, affirming the commitment to carrying forward his values and ensuring Bikanervala remains a place where every dish tells a story, and every customer is considered part of the extended family.
