LAC Concern Raised By Prime Minister Narendra Modi but XI Wants Just Normal Ties

A fresh narrative has emerged surrounding the recent encounter between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping during the BRICS Summit. Contrary to the initial statement made by a Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson, authoritative sources have confirmed that it was the Chinese side that sought the meeting, not India.

The two leaders engaged briefly at the leaders' lounge, accompanied by interpreters. While the Chinese portrayal of the interaction suggests a mutual desire for normalized relations, the reality appears distinct. Prime Minister Modi utilized the opportunity to voice concerns over the significant deployment of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) in East Ladakh.
