Jyotiraditya Scindia Accuses Kamal Nath of Running 'Fully Corrupt' Government in Madhya Pradesh
In a recent interview, BJP leader Jyotiraditya Scindia criticizes Kamal Nath's governance in Madhya Pradesh, alleging corruption and commending Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's transformative leadership. Explore the political dynamics and Scindia's perspective on the state's development.
BJP Leader Jyotiraditya Scindia has accused Kamal Nath of running a "fully corrupt" government in Madhya Pradesh, suggesting that his administration was marked by "cut, commission, and corruption." In an interview during his campaign, the Union civil aviation minister commended current Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for transforming the state.
Scindia emphasized that Chouhan's leadership was pivotal in Madhya Pradesh's development, stating, "80 or 90 per cent of it is due to Chouhan. He has transformed the state." He refuted claims of sidelining Chouhan, pointing out his active involvement in the election campaign.
Scindia, a Rajya Sabha MP, is not participating in the assembly election, unlike seven of his fellow BJP parliamentarians. He now bears the responsibility of securing 34 seats in the Gwalior-Chambal region, which he previously delivered to the Congress in 2018. Scindia played a key role in bringing down the Kamal Nath government after his loyalist MLAs resigned, citing a breach of promises.
When questioned about his decision to leave the Congress, Scindia clarified that loans were not waived off by distributing fake certificates but were effectively addressed by Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who waived off Rs 2,500 crore for 12 lakh farmers by directly paying off their debts. He also defended his actions against the Kamal Nath government, citing the breach of vows and promises.
Regarding his political aspirations, Scindia emphasized that he has no ambition for the chief minister's chair, citing his family's history of not seeking power. Instead, he expressed a commitment to the development and progress of the people and dismissed any desire for a political position.
Scindia countered claims of sidelining Chouhan in the election, highlighting Chouhan's active involvement in the campaign and describing the BJP's election strategy, which includes fielding MPs in Congress strongholds to challenge their dominance.
He lauded the "CM Ladli Behana Yojana" as a game-changer in the election, and noted the BJP's track record of development in the state in recent years, citing improvements in various sectors.
In contrast to the Kamal Nath-Digvijaya Singh leadership, Scindia urged people to consider the state of Madhya Pradesh in 2003, highlighting the substantial improvements in infrastructure, electricity, and irrigation since then under the BJP's governance.
