Insomniac Games Faces Massive Leak: Hackers Demand $2 Million, Expose Plans Until 2032

Insomniac Games, a prominent game developer under PlayStation Studios, has fallen victim to a major leak, with hackers revealing the studio's game plans up to 2032 after being denied ransom.

Rhysida, an alleged ransomware gang, infiltrated Insomniac Games, releasing a staggering 1.67 terabytes of internal data, including over 1.3 million files, exposing the Sony-owned studio's future projects, internal communications, and personal employee information.

Having claimed responsibility for the attack, the hackers demanded a $2 million ransom from Sony. However, when the company refused to comply, the hackers promptly made the data public, as reported by Cyber Daily.

The leaked information encompasses details on upcoming games, featuring footage, plot elements, and game design. Among the revelations are several anticipated titles:

1. Venom Spin-off (2025): A side game akin to Miles Morales, players will assume the role of Venom, engaging with Carnage and dispelling speculations about a Spider-Man 2 expansion.

2. Wolverine (2026): This highly awaited game is scheduled for release slightly later than initially expected.

3. Spider-Man 3 (Late 2028): There are hints at the possibility of the film being divided into two parts.

4. Ratchet & Clank (2029): Following Spider-Man 3, a new Ratchet & Clank game, potentially titled "Rag Tag Team," is set for release, featuring collaboration between Ratchet, Clank, Rivet, and Kit.

5. Spider-Man: The Great Web: A multiplayer project with an undisclosed release date, as previously confirmed by the studio.

6. X-Men (2030): Just four years after the release of the Wolverine game, plans for an X-Men game are in the works. Additionally, documents suggest a new IP is planned between 2030 and 2032, marking a departure from the studio's Marvel-centric focus.

This leak stands out as one of the gaming industry's most significant breaches since the early gameplay reveal of GTA 6 in 2022.
