Go Rewise intends to recycle 25% of India's PET bottle waste by 2025 partners with Coca Cola for 100% recycled PET bottles

Go Rewise, a brand under Ganesha Ecosphere (XNSE: GANECOS), is making significant strides toward establishing a circular economy. The company has set an ambitious goal to recycle 25% of India's PET bottle waste by the year 2025.

Go Rewise is leading the charge in creating a sustainable supply chain for India with the aim of recycling 25% of the country's PET bottle waste by 2025, thereby promoting a circular economy. With over 25 years of industry experience, Go Rewise has implemented advanced Super Clean recycling technology to produce high-quality rPET materials that are FDA and EFSA certified, meeting food safety standards. Every rPET product is accompanied by EPR certification, ensuring transparency and traceability throughout the supply chain.

This initiative by Go Rewise is geared towards addressing India's growing plastic waste problem and providing sustainable packaging solutions for various FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) brands. The company already recycles a staggering 9.3 billion bottles annually and is poised for substantial growth, given the government's regulations related to Extended Producer Responsibility and Plastic Waste Management, which are aimed at reducing plastic pollution.

Enrique Ackermann, Vice President, Technical and Innovation, Coca-Cola India, and Southwest Asia, expressed the company's commitment to addressing global waste challenges and working towards sustainable packaging. The partnership with Go Rewise is a part of this commitment, focusing on raising consumer awareness about eco-friendly packaging and supporting the "Swachh Bharat Mission" initiative of the Government of India.

Yash Sharma, Founder of Go Rewise and Director at Ganesha Ecosphere, emphasized their goal of not just recycling plastic but also providing green supply chain and circular economy solutions in India. Recycling is seen as an effective tool to combat climate change and Go Rewise, with its 25 years of industry experience, is pushing the boundaries of PET recycling in India. Partnerships with key players like Manjushree and Coca-Cola have enabled the launch of sustainable packaging solutions at scale.

Thimmaiah NP, MD and CEO of Manjushree Technopack, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to work with Coca-Cola India and Go Rewise, enabling them to produce high-quality PCR PET granules for small-pack CSD bottles.

This partnership aligns with the Government of India's new Plastic Waste Management Rules, 2022 (PWM), which mandates the use of recyclate in packaging applications. The rules stipulate that by 2025, all packaging manufacturers/brands in rigid packaging applications must utilize 30% recyclate, and this requirement will increase to 60% by 2028. Companies like Go Rewise and Manjushree are gearing up to meet the rising demand for rPET-based packaging, while leading FMCG companies like Coca-Cola India are at the forefront of adopting circular solutions and upholding their sustainability commitments.
