Adani also highlighted the proximity of another significant initiative, stating, "Just 150 km away, in our karmabhoomi Mundra, we are creating one of the globe's most extensive and integrated renewable energy manufacturing ecosystems for solar and wind." This marks a pivotal milestone in India's journey towards sustainable energy, aligning with the Solar Alliance and the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
Anticipated to significantly contribute to India's green energy capacity, the Adani Group's groundbreaking project aligns with the country's climate action pledges made at the COP26 summit in 2021. During the summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi outlined India's commitment to achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2070 and presented five key 'amrit tatva' or nectars.
Modi's commitments included reaching 500 GW of non-fossil energy capacity by 2030, fulfilling 50% of energy needs through renewable sources, reducing net projected carbon emissions by 1 billion tonnes by 2030, decreasing carbon intensity of the economy by over 45% by 2030, and achieving 'net zero' by 2070. The Adani Group's mega green energy park aligns seamlessly with these visionary climate goals. Stay tuned for further updates on this groundbreaking development.
