FlixBus Makes Grand Entrance into India: Unveils Travel Routes, Ticket Prices, and More
Global travel technology leader FlixBus has officially launched its services in India, marking its presence in the second-largest bus market globally. Renowned for its extensive network spanning 42 countries, FlixBus aims to revolutionize intercity passenger transportation in India by providing convenient travel options at competitive prices, coupled with top-tier safety standards.
André Schwämmlein, CEO of Flix, expressed enthusiasm about the expansion, stating, "We are thrilled to expand FlixBus into India, marking our presence in our 43rd country and one of the largest bus markets globally. Our mission aligns perfectly with India's pursuit of sustainable, safe, and affordable travel options for all."
Surya Khurana, Managing Director of FlixBus India, shared the excitement, stating, "We're excited to introduce our services in India, offering safety, comfort, and cost-effective journeys. Our success hinges on collaboration with local operators, focusing on growth and efficiency while championing shared mobility to reduce congestion and emissions."
FlixBus has outlined its focus on connecting major cities and routes across New Delhi, Himachal, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh. Commencing operations from February 6, FlixBus India has kicked off ticket sales from February 1. In a special launch offer, tickets are available at an inaugural price of just ₹99.
The initial routes cover key destinations, linking Delhi with Ayodhya, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Manali, Haridwar, Rishikesh, Ajmer, Katra, Dehradun, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Jodhpur, Dharamshala, Lucknow, and Amritsar. The expansive network encompasses 59 stops and over 200 connections, showcasing FlixBus's commitment to providing a comprehensive travel experience in India.
As FlixBus sets its wheels in motion across Indian routes, travelers can anticipate a blend of affordability, safety, and comfort, making intercity travel more accessible and sustainable.
