In a dynamic branding journey, Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, made a splash by changing Twitter's logo aesthetics. Replacing the iconic blue bird with a bold "X" logo, Musk later modified it with slightly thicker lines. However, he expressed disapproval and announced a reversal of the change. Musk's tweet hinted at ongoing logo evolution, indicating more iterations in the future.
Although the updated logo appeared on Twitter's homepage and Musk's profile picture, it had not yet surfaced on the mobile app. Musk credited Twitter user Sawyer Merritt for inspiring the new logo, submitted over the weekend during Musk's rebranding initiative. The origin of the transformation dates back to Musk's Sunday announcement to rebrand Twitter as "X" and inviting logo submissions. The initial "X" logo bore a resemblance to font and Unicode character, but Musk clarified it was an "interim" choice, leaving room for a potential final design.
