Delhi Court Includes Ex-Haryana MLA Kuldeep Bishnoi as Defendant in Farmhouse Lease Dispute Case
In a recent development, a Delhi court has issued an order to include former Haryana MLA and BJP leader Kuldeep Bishnoi as a defendant in an ongoing property lease dispute case involving his family-owned company, Seth Enterprises Private Limited.
The decision was made by Additional District Judge Satyabrata Panda, who highlighted that Bishnoi served as the director of Seth Enterprises Private Limited. The company is accused of overstaying at a farmhouse property without fulfilling the corresponding rent obligations.
Nimitya Properties Limited, the owner of the farmhouse in question, asserted that the lease agreement was initially for a duration of two years starting from May 2013. However, the accused company continued occupying the property from May 2015 without making any rental payments. The legal dispute arose when the court intervened in 2020, instructing the company to vacate the premises.
Advocate Sumit Gehlot presented arguments on behalf of the property owner, contending that there was an error in excluding the defendant director, Kuldeep Bishnoi, from the list of parties involved in the case.
Kuldeep Bishnoi, a former multiple-term MLA and son of the late ex-Haryana Chief Minister Bhajan Lal, now finds himself directly implicated in the farmhouse lease dispute.
The court's order, issued on January 31, reviewed and set aside the earlier decision from October 29, 2022, which had allowed the application of the defendant director under Order I Rule 10 CPC, resulting in his removal from the list of parties involved in the lawsuit.
The petition detailed the alleged non-payment of rent by Bishnoi since April 14, 2015, causing significant financial strain on the property owner. The court's recent decision to include Kuldeep Bishnoi as a defendant marks a significant development in the ongoing legal battle over the farmhouse lease dispute.
