General Anil Chauhan, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), underscored the principles of jointness, integration, and theaterisation as crucial factors in national security. He described theaterisation as a transformative change with profound implications, marking one of the most ambitious efforts since India's independence. The concept involves establishing tri-service theater-specific structures to ensure a comprehensive response across the entire conflict spectrum. General Chauhan emphasized that integration in the physical domain aims to leverage the combined capabilities of the Services through integrated processes and structures to enhance warfighting capability.
During the event, General Chauhan unveiled the second list of systems and subsystems developed by the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) for industry participation in designing, developing, and manufacturing. This initiative aligns with the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India). Additionally, he released the "DRDO Guidelines for Production Coordination," which outlines a two-tier mechanism involving stakeholders such as designers, users, production agencies, and quality agencies to address issues related to the production of DRDO-developed military equipment, platforms, and systems. These guidelines aim to facilitate the growth of the Indian Defence Industry and promote the development of indigenous defense technologies and systems.
The two-day conclave was organized as a follow-up to the Chintan Shivir meetings, with outcomes reviewed by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh.
