InCoBAN, the Bengaluru-based construction industry improvement ecosystem led by seasoned professionals, has joined forces with Singapore Management University's Executive Development (SMU ExD) to introduce the Advanced Leadership Program in Infrastructure & Construction (ALPIC). Set to commence in April 2024, this year-long initiative is strategically designed to address leadership gaps within the global south's infrastructure sector.

ALPIC recognizes the critical importance of balanced and resilient infrastructure development, integrating social, economic, environmental, and institutional sustainability. By bridging the gap between technical and social sciences, the program aims to cultivate leaders equipped to navigate global disruptions, fostering an integrative approach that intertwines socio-economic considerations with infrastructure development.

This pioneering program targets global professionals with a minimum of 10 years of experience, catering to various sectors such as Central and State governments, Multilateral Organizations, International Financial Institutions, MNCs entering emerging economies, public and private sector corporates, aspiring industry leaders, NGOs, political and social organizations, and academia. ALPIC welcomes applicants from India, Africa, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia.

Highlighting the challenges faced by the infrastructure sector, Eddie Tritton, Executive Director of SMU Executive Development, emphasized the industry's struggles with project financing, timely delivery, and a shortage of skilled candidates for senior positions. Tritton stated, "ALPIC aims to play the role of a catalyst that helps bridge the gap and transforms participants into effective change agents with a forward-thinking approach."

Bhagya S Nair, Co-Founder of InCoBAN Ecosystem, highlighted the strategic partnership with SMU as a crucial element in creating a world-class learning experience for ALPIC. Nair emphasized the importance of learning from Singapore's exemplary leadership in urban infrastructure and commended the country's structured interventions for sustainable development.

The ALPIC program spans four terms over 12 months, offering a hybrid model of online and offline sessions, including a 6-day continuous residency program in Bengaluru. The curriculum aims to equip participants with skills emphasizing evidence-based thinking, leadership, cultural ethos integration, and navigating Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity (VUCA).

The ALPIC certificate holds recognition from both SMU and InCoBAN, providing participants with a comprehensive learning experience. SMU commits senior faculty members every term, ensuring a superior educational experience with comprehensive student services, library access, and a dedicated Learning Management System.

Actively contributing to ALPIC's success, SMU leverages its global recognition to enhance program visibility and reach. InCoBAN Ecosystem, championing principles of equality, workplace democracy, and inclusive growth, finds its implementation arm in Synergasia BE-NEX Private Limited (SBPL).
