Disruption Strikes as Bomb Threats Target Multiple Bengaluru Schools
Chaos unfolded within the premises of at least 15 schools scattered across different parts of Bengaluru as administrative staff received alarming bomb threats through anonymous emails on Friday, claiming the presence of explosives within their institutions.
The receipt of these emails triggered panic among students, parents, and school authorities, leading to the immediate evacuation of the affected schools. The initial wave of threats focused on seven schools, including Napel and Vidyashilpa in Basaveshwar Nagar. Notably, one of the targeted schools is situated opposite the residence of Karnataka’s Deputy Chief Minister, DK Shivakumar, as reported by India Today.
Subsequently, several additional educational institutions received similar threatening emails. Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayananda assured the public that anti-sabotage teams thoroughly scanned the school premises and found no suspicious objects.
"At this point, it appears to be a hoax message. We will conclude the search operation soon. However, we urge parents not to panic," stated Commissioner Dayananda. He also noted that similar email threats were received by many schools in the city last year, emphasizing that they all proved to be hoaxes, according to the Times of India.
