Bold Care, a burgeoning sexual health and wellness startup, made waves on Friday by revealing an undisclosed investment from Bollywood icon Ranveer Singh. The charismatic actor is not just backing the brand; he's stepping in as a co-owner, marking what Bold Care CEO Rajat Jadhav hails as an "iconic partnership."
Launched in 2020, Bold Care has swiftly become a go-to platform addressing various men's concerns, from sexual health to hair care and daily nutrition needs.
Expressing his enthusiasm for the collaboration, Ranveer Singh shared, "I am pleased to come on board as the face and co-owner of Bold Care. Together, we are committed to normalizing conversations about sexual health and wellness, a topic that traditionally comes with stigmas and taboos."
Singh, known for breaking barriers, emphasized the importance of destigmatizing conversations around sexual health. "People, especially men, are misinformed and shy to seek help. With this, we are doing our bit to help bring about a positive change in society," he added.
Singh, who has previously endorsed a condom brand, highlighted his belief in fostering openness and acceptance in society, particularly in the realm of sexual wellness.
Bold Care CEO Rajat Jadhav expressed his admiration for Singh's involvement, stating, "We have announced Ranveer (Singh) as the co-owner at Bold Care. His involvement over the past year has been nothing short of incredible, deeply engaging in every facet of our business. This is going to be an iconic partnership."
This venture isn't Singh's first foray into the startup scene. In 2022, he invested in beauty startup Sugar Cosmetics. Meanwhile, his wife, actress Deepika Padukone, has made strategic investments in various startups through her investment arm KA Enterprises.
The sexual wellness market in India is on a significant upward trajectory, with a market size of $1,153.5 million in 2020. Projections indicate it is likely to reach $2,095.4 million by 2030, recording a compound annual growth rate of 5.8 per cent from 2021 to 2030, according to research firm Allied Market Research.
Bold Care now joins the ranks of other startups in the sexual healthcare and wellness sector in India, including MyMuse, Kindly Health, Sassiest, Sukham, and more.
