"Alleged 'Targeted Attack' on Hindu-Canadians Sparks Concern, Urges Vigilance, Says Leader from Trudeau's Party"

In a recent development, Canadian Member of Parliament Chandra Arya has strongly denounced the pro-Khalistan movement, emphasizing that the overwhelming majority of Sikh community members in Canada do not endorse it.

Against the backdrop of escalating diplomatic tensions between India and Canada, stemming from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's allegations regarding New Delhi's involvement in the assassination of Khalistani separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in June, MP Chandra Arya has expressed his condemnation of targeted attacks on the Hindu community in the country. Arya has called on Hindu-Canadians to remain composed but vigilant in light of recent events. He specifically highlighted the controversial "referendum" orchestrated by the pro-Khalistan group Sikh For Justice, where its president, Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, reportedly called for members of the Hindu community to depart from Canada.

Arya commented, "The Khalistan movement leader is attempting to incite a reaction from Hindu-Canadians in order to create division within the Hindu and Sikh communities in Canada." He also stressed that the vast majority of Sikh community members in Canada do not endorse the Khalistan movement.

The ongoing friction between India and Canada regarding the pro-Khalistan movement and alleged interference in internal matters has further intensified following Trudeau's assertion of "potential links" between Indian government agents and the assassination of a pro-Khalistan terrorist.

It is noteworthy that Chandra Arya is an Indo-Canadian leader affiliated with the Liberal Party of Canada, the same party as Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Arya also described the recent actions by the leader of the Canadian Khalistan movement as a "direct attack" on Hindu Canadians, which he sees as an escalation of previous attacks on Hindu temples and the public celebration of the assassination of former Hindu Prime Minister Indira Gandhi by "terrorists." He emphasized Canada's commitment to high moral values and the rule of law.

Furthermore, Arya raised concerns about Hindu-Canadians being perceived as soft targets due to their tendency to maintain a low profile. He strongly condemned the glorification of terrorism and the tolerance of hate crimes in the name of "freedom of expression." Arya expressed his bewilderment, stating, "I can't fathom how the glorification of terrorism or hate crimes targeting religious groups can be permitted under the banner of freedom of speech and expression. If a white supremacist were to launch an attack on any racialized group of Canadians and demand their departure from our country, there would undoubtedly be a public outcry. However, it appears that this Khalistani leader is evading consequences for this hate crime."
