Revolutionizing Higher Education: All India Institutional Leadership Summit 2024 Unveils Strategies for NEP Implementation

In a significant development, a press conference held on February 5, 2024, at the Manthan Hall in the Administrative Building of Lucknow University unveiled details about the National Summit for Institutional Leadership (NSIL), also known as the All India Institutional Leadership Summit. Scheduled to occur from February 15 to 17, 2024, the summit aims to create a dynamic platform for leaders in higher education to deliberate on the effective implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and strategies to elevate the standards of higher education in India.

During the press conference, Shri Yogendra Upadhyay, the Honorable Minister of Higher Education in Uttar Pradesh, and Prof Alok Kumar Rai, the Honorable Vice Chancellor of Lucknow University, addressed the media.

Shri Yogendra Upadhyay underscored the importance of higher education institutions' participation in the summit, emphasizing the collaboration between Lucknow University and Vidya Bharti Uchcha Shiksha Sansthan (VBUSS). The primary goal is to foster a collaborative environment where leaders can exchange ideas, focusing on the successful implementation of NEP 2020.

Prof Alok Kumar Rai highlighted the uniqueness of the summit as a pioneering initiative by Lucknow University. He emphasized that the event will bring together leaders from various higher education institutions, including Chancellors, Vice-Chancellors, and directors from governmental and non-governmental educational institutions. The summit aims to facilitate cross-fertilization of ideas and the sharing of institutional experiences related to NEP implementation, ultimately raising the standard of higher education in India.

The summit's schedule includes the inauguration on February 15, 2024, with the Honorable Governor of UP, Chief Minister of UP, and the Higher Education Minister of Center and UP in attendance. The second day, February 16, will see the participation of UGC Chairman Prof M. Jagadesh Kumar, Anil Sahasrabudhe, Chairperson of AICTE, and Padmashree Awardee Sri Chamu Krishna Shastry, among other renowned personalities. Interactive sessions, including discussions with Vice-Chancellors, will be prominent features.

The third day, February 17, will feature an industry-institutional partnership session, a pivotal aspect of the summit. Prof Jaishankar Pandey from VBUSS, at the end of the press conference, urged Shree Yogendra Upadhyaya to provide a broader platform for the effective long-term implementation of NEP 2020, emphasizing the societal and educational benefits. Professor Jaishankar Pandey shed light on the summit's objectives, particularly focusing on the implications of NEP 2020 for higher education and students in the long term. The summit marks a crucial step towards transforming the higher education landscape in India.
