Akshaya Patra and The Breakfast Revolution Collaborate With USA-Based 'Share Our Strength' To Impact 10,000 Children For Nutritious Meals

In a significant philanthropic move, Share Our Strength, an American-based charity organization, is extending its support to The Akshaya Patra Foundation and The Breakfast Revolution in India. The collaboration aims to create more avenues for nourishing underprivileged school children. Share Our Strength announced a special fundraiser scheduled for March 17th at the ITC Grand Central in Parel, Mumbai. The event targets raising INR 1 crore to provide daily breakfasts and lunches for over 10,000 underprivileged school children in the upcoming academic year. Share Our Strength has committed to matching all donations from the event, effectively doubling the impact.

With India's aspirations for a $5 trillion economy in the next few years, the focus on nurturing the upcoming generations becomes crucial. Proper nutrition and education are key to preparing children for the challenges of a high-growth economy. Studies consistently highlight the vital role of daily breakfast and lunch meals in schools to enhance cognitive development and learning abilities among students.

Dr. Pankaj Jethwani, Co-Founder of The Breakfast Revolution, expressed the organization's commitment, stating, "This fundraiser is our humble effort towards helping more children, not only to address undernutrition but also act as an incentive to increase school participation rates."

The leadership teams of all three charities, including luminaries from India and other countries, will attend the invite-only fundraiser chaired by Avani Davda and Gauri Devidayal. Renowned chefs, including Sanjeev Kapoor, Manish Mehrotra, Asma Khan, Prateek Sadhu, and Anil Rohira, will curate a special culinary experience to support the noble cause.

Chef Sanjeev Kapoor emphasized the transformative impact of organizations like Akshaya Patra and the importance of collective efforts, stating, "Meals in school help children reach their full potential. By coming together, we can nourish millions of children towards a brighter future."

Funds raised from the event will contribute to making a lasting difference in society by addressing critical issues like food security, undernutrition, increased school attendance, and reduced dropout rates among impoverished children. The collaboration invites individuals and corporations to join the cause and support efforts to nourish the nation.
