Abuse of Power': MK Stalin Accuses BJP of Politically Motivated Actions Against DMK MP and AAP's Sanjay Singh

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has strongly criticized what he calls the "vindictive politics" of the BJP-led Union government in response to recent actions taken by central investigative agencies. He expressed his concerns following the income tax department's raid on the residence of DMK MP S Jagathrakshakan in Chennai and the arrest of AAP MP Sanjay Singh by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with the Delhi liquor scam case.

Stalin took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to voice his views, stating that these actions exemplify the government's misuse of independent investigative agencies for political purposes. He described these incidents as part of a pattern targeting opposition leaders and emphasized that the BJP seems to be apprehensive about the growing unity among opposition parties.

In his message, Stalin condemned the persecution of opposition leaders as an attack on democracy. He pointed out that even the Supreme Court had recently cautioned the Enforcement Directorate to uphold transparency and fairness in its actions. However, he lamented that these agencies appear determined to disregard the principles of the rule of law and democracy.

Stalin called on the BJP to cease what he referred to as a "witch-hunt" and urged the party to focus on addressing substantive issues. He emphasized that the BJP's fear of opposition unity should not lead to a disregard for democratic norms and principles.
